It all happened so fast.

Too fast.

Too blurry, too rushed, too unsuspecting.

Too unfair.

The occasional storms washed most of the blood from the empty streets, but not all of it. Red stained deep on every surface, it covered every surface. Every curb, every looted store, every abandoned home. Red, red, red. Even on the bodies, living or dead. Or, just walking. Red.

It wasn't like when you were younger, when you spilled your red drink and your parent rushed to get it cleaned before it stained your carpets or wooden floors. No, now it was blood. It was bodies upon bodies and blood as far a the eye could see. It was half rotted, limping corpses crawling and shuffling towards whatever they could get their hands on. It was fear, agony, chaos and uncertainty.

It was hell.
