Silo Montgomery has lived her life in the shadows, being the youngest by eleven years, never the popular girl or over achiever; she just flowed through life with a few friends until they went off to college leaving her all alone with her father.

Vincent Walter Lawson has lived his life in the lime light, the charismatic, ever-popular boy who achieved in sports as well as academics, was never one to flow; or go under the radar, with a large group of friends and being known as the most popular guy at school, they were on different ends of the social spectrum.

It was no wonder they never met, that, and the five year age gap between them.

It didn't help either that they lived on the other side of the country to one another for a majority of their lives.

One car crash, multiple hospital visits, finishing college, learning sign language, multiple sex scandals and a runaway dog...

The Deaf and the Bad, are an interesting mix.

She looks up at me, taking a step forward and smiling slightly, "How can I ever get hurt when I have you here to protect me?" "But you could have gotten hurt," I murmur softly, hanging my head and feeling my shoulders drop, the tension seeping from my body. "No. Stop," She cuts me off sternly but tenderly, "Don't talk like that, Reece. I'm okay, you're okay, we're okay," She speaks softly, reaching her hand up to gently brush her thumb over my cheek, just under the cut that's there. "We're okay," I repeat, taking a small step closer to her. She nods with a small smile, moving her hand down from my cheek and instead placing the palm of her hand on my chest, right over my heart. I know she can feel how fast my heart is beating. I just don't know why it's doing that. ~ Reece Carter is the bad boy of Northwood High. He smokes and he fights. After one night of partying, Theo's life is changed forever. After a fatal car accident, he's now stuck in a wheelchair, no longer the beloved athlete praised by peers and teachers alike. Delilah, the girl next door, was there when it happened; she saved his life. Now eight months after the crash, Theo is a shell of himself as he tries to get back into the world without his legs. He's given up on himself, but Delilah refuses to do the same. In an effort to show him that his life is still worth living, the two grow close. But how close can they truly get when between them, secrets still linger? Though intentions may be pure, the ugly truth remains hidden for a reason. Maybe by the end, Delilah will tell us why.
