Mystifying and baffling at times. The Ouija board has managed to peek peoples curiosity through the years. While some think that it opens the gates of hell, others think that it helps them in life. This "talking board" has stirred up a lot of controversy since it's beginnings that is said to be in 1890.

No matter your disposition of the board you are still drawn to stories of the board. It does not matter if you have played with it, thinking of playing with it, or will never touch one, you still love hearing about the people who have a tale to tell about it.

The Ouija board has had movies about it, directly linked to the true story of "The Exorcist", has made it's way on to television, and appears all through social media.   

In this book, I am taking stories that I have found. Most of them tell the tale of scary and sometimes horrific scenes, while others show the lighter side of playing with the board. However, there is more bad stories than there are good. I will say that none of these stories are my own and if I decide to share a story of mine I will announce at the beginning of the chapter that it is my own. In these stories if I can find who wrote it I will share that as well to give them credit.

They don't actually work away from the Hollywood sets or psychics who claim to possess the power to call forth the spirits. At least that is what Lisa believes. In hopes of stealing a glimpse at her future, her friend Matilda decides to hold a séance for her 18th birthday party. The girls find a book that holds much more than some gibberish chant. It contained access to an evil beyond their comprehension. It was only supposed to be a game and now Lisa is left playing for her life.

See, I use my 'gift' in my work as a homicide detective with NOLA's finest boys in blue. Now, I understand why you might call it cheating, and that's fine. But I always catch the bad guy with the victim telling me everything I need to know and give the family involved closer. So it evens out as far as I can tell. Now just as my life is moving slower than a gator with a full belly, the worst happens. I get the call about a homicide that's hit too close to home. It leaves the girl of my dreams coming home to face tragedy. The moment I see her I find myself reminded of the one secret no one ever knew. Ever since I was eight years old I have felt many different things for Emma O'Neal, and those feelings haven't disappeared with time. Problem is now that she's come home; I find myself fighting not only an unknown assailant out for blood, my partner's misguided beliefs but my own need for the enticing beauty I'm duty sworn to protect. Damn, I just hope I'm able to fight the feelings I have for this woman, and stay focused on the case. Otherwise, I might end up losing something far more precious to me than the honor I've worked so hard for: Emma's life.

ranked #49 in hiding I was suddenly just so angry that I was living in fear of this kind of attack. Why? Because we were different. Because we weren't human, and we didn't live in the darkness, and so we were attacked from both sides, always having to look for an escape route. So I snapped, and instead of running towards the door like I knew I should have, I threw a punch that was supposed to land in his rib cage, hopefully breaking a few and causing enough internal damage that he would be down for a while. But that didn't happen, because once that punch was thrown my attacker grabbed my wrist and threw me against the wall and stabbed me with a stake that ripped right through my red skull kitty tank top and cut into the flesh that covered my heart. That was when I heard the slow chuckle and that annoying voice I knew all too well say, "Not bad, but you're still dead."
