Jennifer Stone was born a main character. Destiny dictates that she would one day wield an extremely rare weapon and save the world or a lost civilization. But Jennifer has other plans. She has spent her entire life dodging Fate's attempts to lure her into an epic fantasy adventure. She throws out every magic amulet, ignores every mysterious hot foreign guy, and calls the police for every possible disaster. Fate is understandably upset, and so she creates a scenario that Jennifer can't  escape.
