“I think that most marriages start with love, but that isn’t what holds it together. You know that old saying, “First comes love, then come marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage?” I think that is what happens. People fall in love so they get married. Once they are married, the marriage and the things like a house and children are what keep it together.”

Mel and Jake have never had a normal relationship. She doesn't believe in love and he is in love with her. They reversed the rhyme and started with, "First comes marriage." This leads to drama and the need for a counselor that can fix them. Sitting down, and giving their own perspectives on the relationship, Mel and Jake are forced to confront things they have tried to avoid. Love then marriage, or marriage and then love? Does it matter which comes first?

When one Friday night turns into a sad pity party, Vanessa finds herself agreeing to something she would never before be caught dead doing but... desperate times call for desperate measures. If you succeed in lasting that long, the prize of one million dollars is yours to spend. On the day of her wedding, no one is more disappointed than her at her new husband Jonah. He is nothing like the men she goes for but she wants the prize. It all seems rather easy but Vanessa will soon learn that the first year is always the hardest and it's only made worse with a stranger. With cameras and the country watching their relationship, can Vanessa find a level of normal anywhere? What happens when her ex boyfriend and the father of her child suddenly reappears swearing to get her back? What I got was something different. The beautiful descriptions of the beach town made me feel warm and cozy and kept me reading until these two characters were introduced. I thought their meeting was innocent and sweet, not what I was expecting. It was really good." - CourtneyPeterman0
