The year is 2020. A virus has infected all of humanity, turning those bitten by hosts into cannibalistic freaks, but humanity is fighting back. Throughout the United States, twenty safe zones have been set up by the government. Sixteen year old Quinn Connelly lives in Zone Twelve with her family. After passing her final exam with flying colors, she is able to sign up for whatever job she desires. It just so happens to be the most dangerous job she could have chosen: a runner, the people who go outside of the walls to collect supplies and search for survivors, killing infected along the way. She teams up with other teens her age to keep Zone Twelve safe, but Quinn has to endure torturous training and horrifying tests. Will she give up the fight for Zone Twelve, or will she do what she must for the people she cares about?
