"Stop! Please stop for just one second." Casey struggled to keep up as the wind and the rain hit her face leaving a sting each time it did, but it didn't matter.
Martin stopped dead in his tracks and turned to look at her. She looked at the face that used to cradle her. The face that she would wake up to in the morning. The face that she came to love.
"What?"
"Why are you doing this? I thought you loved me, I thought.."
"Listen to me Casey. I loved you, I did love you. You chose him over me. You chose someone who would walk over you while I would carry you. You chose someone who couldn't admire the way you looked while I was the one to sit down with you for hours and wipe the mascara running down your face. I was there. He wasn't. But you chose someone who didn't love you. And I fell away. I'm sorry. But I don't feel the same anymore."
A dagger in the chest over sixty times wouldn't comprehend to the feeling she felt right now. Watching him leave her right there in the rain.
