The Invasion

"AHHHH!" I wake to the blood curdling screams of my little brother. I swing my legs out of bed and attempt to dash down the hall to jakes room only to find the floor covered in a sickly red liquid. The first thought that comes to my head is blood but... But what it could be for all I know! I push the thought from my head before I make assumptions. I leap to the other side of the room to avoid the liquid and just make it. I hastily hop from foot to foot trying to reach jakes room. Further down the passage I hear my parents discovering the red liquid. I'm only a meter away when the screams are cut off. I freeze as if instantly in a trance. An all mighty bang wakes me and I continue to make my way as quick as I can. By the time I arrive he's not there. Astonished I search the room. The window is broken and I find a small vial of green liquid I shove it in my pocket as my mother arrives in the room with dad not far behind. There eyes examine the room, a sudden look of anger fills my fathers face. Scared I back away from them. "What happ-" my fathers angry but soft tone is cut off by a deafening bang that causes the neighborhood to erupt with dog barks and yelling. I take to big steps over to the window and my eyes fall upon a huge shell in the driveway. My parents dash over and awe fills there eyes. A small cry fills my throat and it becomes bigger until I'm sobbing. I've decided it was blood that lined the hall and I sprint back to my room and slam the door shut. The sobs come now I've never cried this hard before. The sobs rack my chest until I fall asleep slowly.
