Naveyah is living in Monteverde Reserve with her parents and her older brother Brayden. She's not just a teenage girl though. Her whole life Naveyah has had to live with Cerebral palsy, a severe syndrome that classifies her as intensive needs. In her short 14 years of life she has been through so much, with only Brayden, who's 16, to care for her while there parents are off working somewhere in the jungle. And everyone knows there's not many services for intensive needs people, let alone in the middle of a rainforest. Everyone thinks she doesn't understand anything because of the disorder, yet her brain works fine, she just can't show it, so her thoughts just swirl around in her head with no way to express them. She can't talk, walk, or barely even move in general, so she can't even write anything out. When Naveyah discovers she only has a year or less to live, she begins searching for a cure that will make all intensive needs people be able to function normally. She feels it her job to make a stand and show the world they understand everything someone says, and are extrmely smart. She feels she's not intensive needs, just physically handicapped. Will she be able to use only her knowledge to save herself and everyone else with various syndromes, before it's too late?
