It's 1939. Maria Dawson, 18, is in love with--or so she thinks--Christopher Britton, 21. They're mutual friend is Riley Lewis, 23-- the three of them are inseperable. Along comes the war and Christopher is shipped out. Riley has a health condition and ergo he stays home. Maria and Riley grow closer as Christopher is away, eventually Maria feels like she loves Riley. Riley has always felt something for her. Things change when Christopher comes back from the war, an entirely different person-- jealous, depressive and angry.
