Joanne Knight and Travis Kelt cross paths, literally after a midnight run and become friends. Not the typical friends that are there for you, but the kind of friends... Well, how would you describe it?
Joanne was hurt and in result, her mom got killed. So it's her and her dad and she's lonely. When she meets one of Travis' friends who "knows" about it, she must do what he says so he keeps it to himself.
Travis has his older sister and his dad. What happened to his mom is a mystery. And when he learns about Joanne and her new "boyfriend" he doesn't know how to take it, or if he should.
