After having his ship attacked and being enslaved by a band of pirates at the age of fourteen, Peter Greystone grows up to believe that freedom will never come within his reach. However, when the pirate captain, Red Skull, captures a mermaid, Peter makes the deadly decision of setting her free- but at a cost that will follow both of them for the rest of their lives.
