Zach Michaels lives in a world overcome by fear. Most people try to hide in their houses while the wizards sweep the streets looking for candidates. Zach's mother knows he has elemental potential so she hides him in the basement. Then when there is a rumor of a group of mages strong enough to defeat the wizards and end the fear Zach knows in his heart that he has to join them. He has to become a scroll knight.
