Draco thought he had an amazing life - he did - people wanted to be him or be with him - he had looks, power, fame, money and adoring fans - he thought he was the best and he didn't care about anything other than himself. 

But then he finds out a terrible fate - a fate including him. He's a Veela - and apparently a full-blooded one with the gene dormant for three generations until supposedly 'awakening' inside of him. Isn't that just glorious? 

And that's not even the worst part - he has a mate now - a mate that is his arch rival - his worst enemy - Harry Sodding Potter. Oh no, that's not all - he's also a Dominant Veela; meaning he has to look after and care for his mate. Harry. Potter. 

It can't be that bad, though? Can it? He's a Dominant, so he can control Potter, he can make Potter obey him. Make him worship him. Make him love him. Of course, he wouldn't love Potter back - love is for the weak - and Draco wanted to be Potter's master - not lover..

Draco Malfoy has always had a stone, cold look on his face. He always looked as if he had no emotions whatsoever. Ever since I first met him, he was like that. I've seen a side of him that no one else has. He doesn't know that I've seen the good side of him. He didn't mean for me to see his vulnerable side, but I did. I know he can be a good guy. He's just misunderstood and... misguided. He has a horrible father, who's a horrible role model. He grew up in a broken household, and he became what he knew.... a bully.... I'm not gonna lie... I feel really bad. I can tell he wants to be different, but... he needs help to figure out how. He knows nothing else. He doesn't know how to be different, and I really wanna help him, but... sadly, he won't let me in. He won't let me help. He doesn't wanna admit that he needs help... However... when I catch him with a different expression, besides stone and cold, everything changes.... especially him... His expression is almost.... soft...

Tell him something was wrong, and it wasn't Draco's fault, and maybe Potter would believe him, promise him it was okay, and they'd sort it out without murders or Azkaban. "It's okay," Potter said as though he had read Draco's mind. As though something compelled him to say whatever Draco wanted him to say. "Just tell me, and we'll deal with it." This was too cruel. It wasn't just a random kiss in a cupboard that only served to remind Draco of what he could never have. This was really much worse. This was Potter behaving in a way that Draco rarely dared even to imagine. He'd only resort to it when his need was dire. When his nightmares were too vivid, and the images refused to vanish even after Draco woke up and opened his eyes. In those moments, his mind trusted only Potter. He was the only one who could convince Draco that it was all right, that he was safe now, that the Dark Lord wasn't coming back. Only Potter could save him from nightmares the way he had saved him from flames. Their foreheads were touching. Potter's skin was warm, the scent of his shampoo too delicious for Draco not to breathe it in. Whichever spell Potter was under, it was definitely contagious. Or Draco really was having a nervous breakdown."
