The disgusting sound of bones breaking resonated in the alleys. Two pitch black wings slowly grew out of the guy's back, broken bones cracking into place, feathers growing out of the bare skin, opening wide, getting him to levitate above the ground, and projecting Matthew across the street into some trash cans. *** Hope White, aged 17, is living a normal life. Until her luck seems to disappear. Infortunium, beings that feed on your luck and turn it corrupted. Alex Cooper, who's been 20 years old for over 500 years, spreads his black wings over the human girl, claiming her as his. He also claims to be different from the others, but will this statement still remain true when his animal instincts kick in? Best soldier of the Infortunium army, he is born to kill, and Hope knows that. It's up to her to either find a way to get rid of him, or accept him. She starts searching. How could she possibly run away? Kill him? But her heart says otherwise. And when she starts realising she wouldn't stand harming him, her life takes a whole new turn. Finding herself in the middle of a war she will be the one to pay for the beast's treachery.

*Featured on Fantasy's Dark Fantasy reading list!* ► Book One of the Wings Trilogy This is, by no means, a story for those light of heart. This is also, unfortunately, a true story. I am a doctor with wings, one who doesn't belong here. I know, stereotypical. But it's true. Still confused? I used to be an angel. I caused the apocalypse of the planet inhabited by the very creatures I was supposed to help. It was the only way to help them, really. But that's a different story for a different day. Now, the surviving humans have emerged from the rubble, soaking in the damage left over from my destructive actions. What are they supposed to do about that? I have been cast upon earth, given the task of taking care of them and healing them. I suppose I have to clean up after myself. I doubt, however, that I have any chance of returning home to Elvirund. Or, as the humans call it, Heaven. You see, all of them are wounded. And the Elders are coming after me. ---------------------------------------------------- Rated Mature for: infrequent/mild cursing, mild graphic content Beautiful cover thanks to @leaving_forever Started: Jul 17, 2016 Ended: May 14, 2017
