This necklace is given to each child on their sixteenth birthday, it is held at the hospital of which they are born until that day. No one knows why this happens, but it seems to make everyone live like a utopia. The closer you get to your soulmate, the warmer, and more bright your necklace becomes. Once united with your predestined love, the necklaces become one and are worn while "baby making", to ensure the child is born with their own necklace. This way of life happened to eliminate wasting time, to ensure everyone ends up happy and to give young people hope. The catches: You have to journey to find your match. You may not be with anyone but your match. Once you have been united, there is no divorce.

The Girls with the Flame Tattoos by artsykid04
15 parts Complete Mature
In this society, everyone has a soulmate. And the way to find yours is just look. Along with a soulmate, everyone has a small tattoo on their cheek with a symbol. Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm. And they will glow if you have found only one of your sm's if your match was poly. The trick is, you don't get the tattoo until you are 16. And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick. The main characters of this story, Violet West (18) and Harper Black (20), both have a flame tattoo on their cheek. They live in the same state but for 4 years Harper paniced because she couldn't find her match. She wasn't sure if it was because her sm wasn't of age yet or if her sm lived far away. For 2 years Violet also paniced but she knew that some people don't find their sm for 5-10 years after they come of age, so she wasn't as scared as Harper. One day though, they feel their tattoos start to tingle. ____________________________________ *Will they be happy with who their soulmate turns out to be? *Will they recognize each other? *Will they be happy? *Will they break apart? -Read to find out. :) ____________________________________ This book is rated mature because there is a lot of talk of depression and self harm.
