There are two sides in the world. The chaos and the calm. I am calm, but my life is chaos. He was chaos, but his life was calmer than mine.
Little by little, he came into my broken heart
Minute by minute, he mended my life
He healed my wounds, and stuck back the shattered pieces.
...
Then, piece by piece, he left me behind.
Piece by piece, he broke my heart.
His hat, his guitar case, his long brown hair. They're nothing but memories now.
"If you ever want to be in love, I'll come around"
That's right. You'll come around. Then leave, right?
"You're god sent, you're everything I've ever needed. I wouldn't be who I am right now without you, thank you, for shaping me and moulding my heart around yours. You've given me nothing but love these past few years when I've needed it most. Connor, you are truly golden."

If you'd have asked James ten years ago where he'd be in ten years time, one, he'd never say married and two, he certainly wouldn't have said dying.
However, both of those are reality and learning to deal with that means for some rocky and unstable road. Instead of facing the heartbreak he'd cause, he kept everything inside, writing it down in a collection of moments for Connor to find and reflect on once James is no longer around.
