Sylvania. It is a place where every person is given a neclace at birth and they have to keep up with it throughout their entire lives. The necklace is a small circle that is designed to help each person find their soul mate that is decided for them at birth. When ever you are getting closer to this person, the circle heats up. When you get farther away from this person, the circle gets cold. Before the age of 14, the females and the males are not alowed to interact. The first day that they are allowed to meet is when they are moved from the female country, called Femalia, or from the male country, called Arborline, to the matching countrty of Frebourne. Once you've found your match, you then move to Sylvania. If you don't find a match by the time you are 16, you are put into a program that will put you in the same city as your match. If you don't find your match byt the time you are 18, you are then removed from the system. None of the citizens of Sylvania are quite sure how it is possible to be removed from the system. No one ever questioned the system. Anyone who did, was removed from the system. Monica Andrews was no different. She had always beleived that the system was a great solution to what the people in her books called heartbreak. She had always looked forward to the day that she would get to meet her match. She had always imagined it in her head the day that she would get to see a male for the first time. What they looked like, smelled like, breathed like, and how they would talk. Would they talk just like her and all of her friends would? Would they all be like the males in all of her books? Or would they all be horrible things that she would just have to deal with? She didn't know. All she knew was that she was ready for her new life to begin. Little did she know that she was in for the adventure of a lifetime.

My mum always used to tell me what it's like to see your mate for the first time. She used to say that at that moment, everything around you stopped, that nothing else mattered. And nothing else would matter. If it wasn't for the little girl clinging to my leg right now. That little girl that trusts me with her life, that beautiful little girl that made me hold on and not give up on life. That little girl, whose father is standing in front of me right now. He's my mate. The edges of his lips curve and he looks up and down as if checking me out. "Long time no see." Are the words that first come out of his mouth that break the silence. ~~~~~~~~~~ Lexie is an Alpha's daughter. She faces a hard few days and thinks a night at the club will help her get through this. A few drinks won't hurt, right? At least that's what she thinks. Yet that night will change everything sooner than she would ever imagine. When the next day, her pack gets attacked, everything is chaos. Her mother and father are killed and her world shatters. She's forced to run away and leave everyone that she still has left behind. She thinks she has no one... that's until she finds out about another heartbeat in her body. Raising a baby on your own is hard enough. After a few years she finally meets her mate though and it turns out she knows him after all. How will she confess that her mate is actually her daughter's father? What will happen now? We don't live in a fairy tale where every story has a happy ending though. Real world isn't that easy...if you can call a world full of mystical creatures very real.
