In a small town on the edge of the Here and the Farther, there lived creatures called The Grim. The life of any living thing, or their "Light", is in danger from The Grim. The people of the town, Grimsby, have told of a story about The Grim that live in the woods and extract all the Light from the forest and everything in it. Iko Cadlow, a Junior in Grimsby High, gets lost in the forest after going on a hiking trip with her brother, Andy. She loses sight of him and decides to go look for him off the trail. What she finds could haunt her forever. Will she find her brother? Or an unspeakable being that brings upon her worst nightmares? And most important, can she stop The Grim?...
