Where My Demons Hide

Most little girls were afraid of the monster under their bed. I was afraid of the one who crawled under my covers.
Parents are supposed to protect you from the nightmares that keep you up at night. My mother was one of the reasons I couldn't sleep.
Big brothers and sisters are supposed to be your biggest supporters. Mine made sure I knew just how special I was in their world.
Some kids sleep with a nightlight to keep the demons away. Mine live somewhere light never touches.
