A young teen Iris Vauner lives in the aftermath of a major explosion that killed millions all over the world and led to humans stripped of their humanity as a result of everything gone just like that. The remaining survivors of both the invasion and the war were recruited into a settlement camp near them. Each settlement camp has its' own rules. Each year two men and two women are sent together to go outside their settlement and compete with opposing groups from other settlements and fight to bring back a years worth of supply for their settlement.
