Jameson turned his attention to Lillyanna. She was standing, smiling as she watched him come over to her. "So do you believe me now? Only a mate would do that."

"No. You are not my mate and you will never be. Get that through your little elven head. I had a mate and she died. She's dead. You will never be able to replace her."

She looked at him with a pained expression. "What do you mean-" she began but was cut off as she fell to the ground coughing up blood. She struggled to breath as she coughed up more and more blood.
