It's been well over a year since the downfall of humanity to a strange phenomenon that brought about the zombie apocalypse. Humanity is on the verge of disappearing into history as the parasite spreads from person to person. However, there is more than meets the eye behind the cause of the apocalypse. 

The story follows through the eyes of one of the first zombies-if not the first-Benny Myers, and a human that he made a promise to protect. They journey with no true purpose, other than survival and visiting parts of the world that are now only seen through the eyes of the dead.

Rumors have been flying ever since a group of scientist in the Feet City who were capable on the unsuccessful attempt of the nuclear experimentation. So they stick together to plan something out from the most feared zombie apocalypse. Society is crumbling. Zombie apocalypse is happening. The group that it through are now trying to find the normalcy in life again only to be thrown into a new nightmare altogether. A group that knows more than anyone should has their eyes on the survivors and virus, convinced that they can use this to their own advantage and create a strength of their own. Old memories resurface, dangerous risks are taken, unexpected reunions occur, and blood spills all over as the survivors battle to survive not one, but two nightmares together.

Charlotte wants nothing to do with Nate or the girl who looks like her dead sister. She does not want to go through the grief of losing people again if something bad was to happen. And something bad does happen when Emmi is kidnapped, and it is no one's fault but Charlotte's. Through this obligation alone, Charlotte feels like it is her responsibility to get Emmi back, to right her wrong. In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself.
