"He's going to die, okay?!" My bottom lip quivered, a telltale sign that I was already crying. Rory took another step away from me, this time like he had been struck by lightening and thrown into the throngs of a hurricane. "He's going to die and there's nothing I can do to stop it. I don't know when. I don't know why. And I don't know how, but it's going to happen and there's nothing that can be done."

He gulped, a heaviness taking over his expression, but just as quickly as the expression showed, it was gone. A fierce look of determination crossed his face. "You may have given up already," He said with an accusing tone and finger pointed at me. "But I sure as hell haven't."

But was I giving up too easily? Knowing that Aspen was going to die was one thing, but knowing how would be ten times more beneficial to the situation. But I didn't, and neither did Rory, so what were we left to do? We couldn't tell Aspen and we sure as hell couldn't stop him from doing every little thing if it meant he could die. If we stopped him from living his life so he wouldn't die, it wasn't exactly a life worth living anyway.
