Something smashed into her, knocked out all of her wind and spun her around. A vice clamped over her mouth and crushed her chest. A second later, she was behind a bush and looking eye to eye with Suzi.
Suzi growled.
"Shut-up, Suzi," hissed Banning. "Now, I'm going to take my hand away from your mouth and I need you to not scream," he whispered in her ear from behind. "What the hell is this? Who is this guy and why are you running away from him?"
He eased his hand away. She was on her knees, struggling to take a breath, with Banning behind her, one arm around her torso and the other was moved from her mouth to up behind her neck.
She took a couple of deep breaths and whispered, "He's my Ex. He's been stalking me."
His grip loosened and he let her go. She turned, still gasping for breath, to see him grimace and then sigh deeply. She put her hands on her hips defiantly, half bent over and glared at him.
"What? It's not my fault he's following me."
He shook his head and thought for a moment.
"Stay here with Suzi," he said decisively. "I'll fix this."
