"A caravan trudged up the road, slogging through the mud. It wasn't the kind of day one usually wished to travel in; but this caravan seldom stopped. "

Sixteen year old Vera has travelled with this caravan her entire life, never knowing anything different. A mysterious stranger briefly joins their caravan, with some information that might just change Vera's destination.
