     Mankind has almost been destroyed, except for a few saved by those with the foresight to inoculate babies against the Devastation, an apocalyptic event that was to happen twelve years later. Only the young survived, aged twelve and under they withstood the toxic air that killed everything.
	
     Now, six years on, survivors eighteen years and under have worked together, creating their own clans and villages, each group living differently from the other. Young love blossoms, families and friendships are formed, personalities grow and change, skills develop in discipline and management. Some experience jealousy and unrequited love whilst others find serenity and hope.
	
     In their utopia they enjoy freedom with faded memories of the dystopian world they were born into. But free choice is suddenly lost with the demand of another that they must go to. Through his emissary Rancor, Kisin kills to show his technological power and places fear upon them all. The clans are pulled away from the safety of their homes and made to journey to an unknown place where a sociopath awaits them.
	
     Cultures must be understood. The clans have to put aside their differences and work together if they are to save the lifestyles they have created or let them be destroyed by a clan that has powers they do not understand. Youth cannot avoid emotion and love. Fear and anger abound as our clans face danger, and put themselves in peril to save the ones they love against the evil that even The Devastation could not destroy.

Evelyn Sheer and the researchers are trying to create a genetic modification that enables humans to photosynthesize. Once in the facility, Evita is tagged as a test subject and loses all say over what happens to her body. She has to escape. By the time she comes up with a plan there is only one problem. Evita isn't ready to leave.

I reached for his body involuntarily as he pitched forward, nearly causing him to take me down with him. My left hand was soaking wet from where it had landed on his shoulder.
