Well, there's always a nerd that's weak and bullied. That's either the damsel in distress or she suddenly turns badass. But sorry to say, my story is completely different. People fear me, no one dares to bully me, even the cheerleaders and our school's star quarterback bow down to me. Oh you think I'm the 'bad girl'? Sorry, but I'm the nerd who rules the school. Emma Carpenter is a classic example of a nerd. She does her homework, gets straight A's, reads all the time, and never gets in trouble. Then one day Emma gets detention with the one and only Dylan Evans. You could say he's a bad boy. He punches anyone who pisses him off, sleeps around with every girl he meets, doesn't attend school, and is in trouble 99.9% of the time. And of course Emma can't stand him. During detention there teacher assigns them a project for them to do together over the next couple of weeks. Emma is furious. Jessica is your everyday not-so-stereotypical nerd. She does not act like regular nerds, who are obsessed with having perfect grades, although she is an A+ student and not very noticeable. She is more like wallpaper than an actual talking human, until she meets the school bad boy. They became immediate enemies (well, after she gets over his good looks). They are forced to spend time together since they both are in many of the same classes and have the same job. But he begins to rub off on her, and she suddenly becomes more confident and courageous. Is this a bad thing? Or is he just a bad influence?

I'd been avoiding his intense gaze for the entirety of the conversation, but I looked into his eyes as I said: "I just want to know; why me?" ---------- Casey Hall is a simple girl, leading a complicated life and it only gets worse when she encounters Jeremy Storm and his elite group of friends. "You better get used to it," I retorted as I spun on my heel and headed for the school doors that led to the outside. "I've never met anyone like you before," he called after me, this time, not coming after me. "I know, Romeo. I'm a special little snowflake," I called back, not turning around. "You got the 'little' part right there, Princess!" he shouted after me. I threw up my middle finger back to him and heard him laugh as I exited out the doors rather dramatically. ... I'm tired of all those high school stories about a straight-A girl student with the perfect life who falls for the stereotypical Mr. Bad Boy who wears leather black jackets and only has a soft spot for her. That's not how the real world works, sweetheart. I may look like a damsel, but I'm never in distress. ...
