Long ago, the Malfoy family wanted to ensure that their bloodline would stay strong and thrive through the ages. A spell was cast upon two rings to ensure this. When the Malfoy heir turned 15 touch would reveal to him the one woman whom would be his match in every way. She, and only she, would ensure the strength of the Malfoy name. When they both turned 16 the rings would appear on their fingers, legalizing the engagement.
