Kasey has never been much of a socialist. She's never really needed friends. She has her mom and two drumsticks, what else could she possibly need to be happy? But now Kasey slowly is starting to realize that maybe she can't do everything alone. Remi can't sit still. He's always up and running, maybe from his huge family. He isn't sure what to call home anymore. Life's a big joke to him, and there's nothing to worry about. But what will he do when he meets the people that finally make him want to slow down for just a moment? Cirrus is used to taking care of herself. Her mom left when she was nine, and her dad is working full-time. She spends all her time working to please her dad, and that means she never has time for a real life. Which doesn't bother Cirrus. She's used to everything this way, and doesn't like change. Until she meets the one person that lives for being different, and the people that define change in themselves. Ava has everything. A perfect house, perfect clothes, and a perfect place among her class: on top. But Ava's stuck with unwanted company, and a job with a bunch of "freaks", and nothing is going how she planned. She comes to realize that maybe everything isn't enough, and sometimes things are better imperfect. Nathan's life has been challenging. Maybe that's why he never talks. Among the others he's just a mystery, the unpredictable boy that hides what he feels. But underneath it all, he surprises them all by being the person they never expected, and the person that they'd been looking for all along. Matt is the guy that everyone wants to be. He's the class president, quarterback of the football team, and always the best-looking person in the room. Not to mention he always has the right thing to say, and is a music genius. But then he meets the one person that can't stand anything but ordinary, and shows her what life's about. When they are brought together, they slowly become what they never wanted. Friends.

He smirked, leaning against the wall. "Despise me all you want; it won't change anything. I'll kill every single human until you give me what you stole from me. " I hated him, I wanted to see him burn in hell where he belonged. "I didn't steal anything." "Don't play with me," he whispered walking towards me. "If I die, I'll take all you pitiful humans with me. You think my father was a mad king?" He grabbed my face forcing me to look at him. "You haven't seen mad, little devil hunter. I am willing to destroy the entire world, leaving behind nothing but ash. No living thing, not even an ant, will be left after I'm done, and guess whose fault it will be." He turned me to face the mirror. "Yours." People say the biggest loss in life is death. But their wrong, it's what dies inside you while you still live. One night changed Alix's whole life. Watching as her mother was murdered right in front of her eyes, she was thrust into a world unknown to the rest of the world. She thought she was losing her mind, but once reality set in, she knew she wasn't. Devils did exist, but in this world there wasn't just one, there were many. They were normal people, but if you looked harder, you could see them for what they truly were. Luckily, Alix was saved by a handsome stranger who helps her get strong enough to protect others, and fight against the Devils. Just as things start looking up, things go downhill fast. She learns about the secrets her mother tried to bury, and she's torn apart by them. Azreal wasn't just her mother's killer; he was the king of the devils. He was ready and willing to get back what was stolen from his family at any cost. What he didn't realize was, what was stolen from him...was her.
