Damien Lancaster's life can't get any more bizarre....
Well it can, actually, because he's dead.
Due to a cruel turn of events he and his family die in a car accident on his sister's eighteenth birthday, except he didn't pass on to afterlife like a normal person, he instead piques the interest of The Grimm, the head honcho of all the reapers charged with the duty of making sure souls of the deceased pass on and not turn into giant disgusting creatures bent on killing the living or taking over their bodies.
And as if that isn't enough, Damien gets caught up in his Reaper fighting-instructor's mysterious agenda, following a high school girl who is shrouded in secrets even she isn't aware about.
And did I mention Joe, his talking pocket watch that points him towards the souls he needs to reap AND which lets him play a much more gory version of Fruit Ninja?!
Secrets within secrets spanning centuries, slimy ectoplasm, fighting corrupted souls with gardening equipment and stalking a high school girl, an adventure ripe for the reaping!

"What the fuck did we bump into?" Damien yells. The entire room rattles. Window frame movement puts too much stress on the glasses. The lights going on and off as if some weirdo is busy toying with them, the light fixture's wires become exposed, and vases crash on the ground from top cupboards followed by books and magazines. Her eyes showed nothing but pure white as she tossed and turned vigorously on the small hospital bed, blinking multiple times. "DO NOT TOUCH HIM!" She yells. This fuels the shaking edifice more. "Do something!" I scream at the doctor who is standing there flummoxed just as we are. Out of nowhere, a bright light engulfs her. "What the actual fuck?" goes the doctor dropping the clipboard in his hands. The ECG machine goes into a wild paced beeping. "DON'T! "She shouts once more sitting up, blasting us away. My back connects with a hard object behind me. The sound of shattering glasses, exploding machines and light bulbs follow .A sharp high pitch sound ringing inside my ears caused by the blast. . I feel myself getting weak as my back aches from being hit. By the time am conscious enough the sound of buzzing sockets as a result of short out wires that produce bright sparks in the now dark room are all I see and hear for a moment, lights flickering simultaneously. Later, I hear someone giving orders from outside our room accompanied by indistinct voices from agitated people being guided out of the building. My eyes scan the room searching for Damien. I heave a sigh of relief to see him laying on the ground his head leaning lazily on the door. A figure moves adjacent from me. The doctor takes closer yet cautious steps towards the girl still seated on the bed her eyes shut. "What in the world of the X-Men are you?"

He was dead. Somehow, between him dying and me freaking out, I had an epiphany; I saw when people were going to die. And then I officially had my first panic attack since my mom died. Boysenberry Moonchild Roxburgh is your average girl who happened to get hit by lightening, starts seeing when people are going to die, meets a soul reaper and his pissed off half brother, gets hired by death and is being constantly annoyed by a stalker black cat and her dead mother who she can now see.
