Samantha Foster had half an hours notice before she moved. She didn't just move house, or town. She moved states! Much to her distaste, her stepfather Carl moves her family across the country for a job that is hardly opportunistic. But when she does move, she gets more than she asks for. This includes Adonis, the Apex leader of the school, the one who had mysterious control over almost all the students, and the one who becomes strangely infatuated with her. Sammy is unsure of what to think, especially since one moment, he can't get enough of her and the next, he says he can't be near her.
Sammy soon comes to realise that there's a lot more to those close to her then she realises, stepping into an invisible world of dangers and things she considered fantasies. What is Adonis' secret? What is this new town's secret? And what has Sammy really gotten herself into?
