Joan Of Arc was born on January 6, 1412 in Domrey-La-Pucelle France. She had three brothers and a sister. Her family was not rich or poor. Her father and her mom worked on a farm as a job. When she was 13 she started hearing voices that were telling to see the future ruler of France Charles VII, and join the army. She went to go see Charles VII when she was 16 and asked him if she could join the army, he said no. The voices told her to dress up as a man and try again. Charles VII went against all his counsels and assistants and said yes. At one of Joan Of Arc's assaults, The Siege Of Orleans, she got wounded and got captured by the Burgundian forces. She was then sold to the English for 10,000 gold coins. The English held her captive and tried her for witchcraft, heresy, and dressing up as a man which were serious crimes at that time. Joan Of Arc was burned on a stake on March 30, 1431 in Rouen, France. She was then canonized a saint on May 1920 by Pope Benedict.
