Jessie Taubman was a teenager who hated her life. Her father  was sent to a mental hospital when she was only 8 years old and her mother has worsening depression and isn't able to maintain a job which causes them to move a lot. Suddenly her life is turned completely upside down, one day while walking on the railroad she sees a train going the opposite way and without warning it flies off the tracks and takes her left leg from just below her knee and down. After the accident she has to re-learn how to walk and cope with her new fake leg but after weeks she's gone nowhere and feels that her life is getting worse by the second. Then she meets Aaron Price, the most popular kid in his high school until embarrassing  rumors are spread across the school about him. After that Aaron never talked to anybody and shut out anybody who tried to talk to him but then he met Jessie. Together Jessie and Aaron learn to heal by doing outrageous tasks that will make you laugh, cry and question every thing you thought you knew about life.
