Kate's life was going well, she was going to college and had a boyfriend. Yeah he was a little strange but she never thought the day would come when he confessed he was a hunter, of the supernatural. Her first experience with the supernatural was traumatizing but we see how she manages to get past that and become one of the most famous hunters out there.
