It took only a few months for the deadly infection to spread through the globe. It took only a few months for over half the population to turn and for the world to fall into pandemonium.
The world has never been a place of kindness and generosity, it is relentless and Evelyn Grimes has seen the worst of mankind's despicable tendencies. When the apocalypse arrives, she locates her brother Rick and a group of unlikely comrades. One in particular a snarky, redneck who comes to teach her to let go of the past and love, even when the world doesn't give you a chance to.
