The Maple Tree

Anna Winters came to Redfirn every spring too see her relatives, ever since she was little. When she met a boy, with piercing green eyes, who sat beside her at 4 o clock every day below a maple tree. There was a silent agreement to never talk as he silently protected her under his constant gaze. All except when they greet each other, he calls her Celaena and she calls him Maple.

One dreadful Spring, her mum fell ill. A illness that seemed incurable, and so Anna never went back to Maple or to the little village of RedFirn. That was until she was sent to stay with her Auntie after a tragic event. Now, after 7 years, she will finally come face to face with her protector and best friend, Maple.

But who is he now?
