My parents weren't what I would call roll models. They spent the majority of their life away from my sister and I.
You see, my parents don't usually stay home for long periods of time. They like to think of us as the poster type of family: good grades, athletes, and smart and successful business men. They never liked to stay home for long, rather be on the road then home with their disappointing children.
But in reality my parents were just cold-hearted money craving murderers. You heard me right, MURDERERS. My parents worked for a top secret organization that was created to single out certain people in society who didn't belong.
Those people were known as supers, and I grew up my whole life thinking that they were evil, that they were only put on this earth to destroy what civilization had built.
Little did I know that the life of a superhero was closer to me than I truly knew.

The only thing that matters is that I see her. I knew I could take her if I really wanted to but I can't make myself to do it. She sees me enter and shoots me that amazing smile and prepares my order without even asking what I want, she knows. She'll offer a greeting but all I can do is nod my head. I shouldn't have been walking around alone at night. I shouldn't have stopped and watch the obviously crazy man set the building on fire.
