There is no such thing as peace in a world where dragons live side-by-side with humans. Peace is a pretense; and so, it seems, are dragons. Many long years have passed since the dragons first began yearning for a different life, a different world. Now they have obtained just that. Able to transform into humans, they have found a way to disguise themselves, live among people, eat at their tables, wear their clothes, sleep in their beds.
The world of humans has grown tired of dragon imposters, and its people are finally starting to fight back. If dragons had succumbed to the human displeasure with little resistance, all might have ended well, but dragons are not keen on giving up their human lives. Instead, they are willing to weave against the law, continue disguising themselves as people, living among the enemy. Their once peaceful world has descended into a fight for identity, and humanity is no longer so easily distinguished.
Elynor is young, but she has a strong voice. Her constant clamor for dragon rights has earned her many the hostile stare and even more turned down proposals for change. When a local protestor of dragon rights is found dead in the town square, all heads turn to Elynor; and the dragons. In order to clear her own name, and the name of the creatures she fights so desperately to defend, Elynor embarks on a mission to find the true killer; and perhaps make what small peace she can.
