I then remembered the boy the back who was brave enough to come out to me. It takes guts, it takes courage and pride.
The crowd finally settled down and it was quiet enough for me to speak.

"I just wanted to recognize someone." I glanced into the back of the venue once again, searching for the lovely sign this boy had made. It was no longer there.
"Who was it that was holding up the sign that said 'I'm gay and you're the first to know'? Could you raise your hand up high for me please." I shouted so that they all heard me.
