I remember the time, date, and place that I uttered these selfish words. I should have stayed quiet, should’ve let him go. But no, as Eli shifted his temper mental car into drive, I couldn't stand to see him leave. A quick thought rushed through my head, ‘He would stay…He would stay if you asked.’ I had the time, three short seconds, and I went for it.
