Frisk has an older twin brother. After fighting with her mother, she ran away to Mt Ebott. Her brother Frank, followed her deep into the cave. After hearing a thunder, it startled both the twins. And fell into the hole of abyss.

That is where they're adventure begun, meeting new friends (monsters) after fighting between them. The twin will discover something precious that was hidden from them both.
