Katsu Inazuna remains the medical ninja for Squad Seven despite the tension between her and her temporary sensei, Kakashi Hatake. Even several months after their return from captivity from the legendary Sannin, Orochimaru, and Katsu's ex-boyfriend, Sasuke Uchiha, not much has changed to lessen the discomfort between the two Leaf Shinobi. Training their unbelievably talented students, Erika Raidon, Hibiki Yuri, and Tamiko Mayu, seems to be the only thing they can both agree on.
But what happens when one of the children unexpectedly leaves the safety of the village to answer questions about their past that were perhaps better left unanswered? What happens when Orochimaru draws himself back into the picture, and along with him, someone Katsu feared to ever have to see again. Will Katsu and Kakashi's relationship ever be mended or is it destined to remain the shattered fragments of something that was once beautiful? And what of the fate of the three powerful children? Will they finally learn the important message that's been a question in their hearts from the very beginning- That not all people are defined by where they come from?
