In the beginning it wasn't like this. It started out good. SOMEONE (or something?) made all this--not the mess we live in now--but everything before the mess: before the first dirty diaper was ever thrown out of the window of a car as it sped down the highway. Before junkyards and cesspools and water treatment plants. Before jails. Before hospitals. Before cemeteries. Before all the carnage that came with this plague.
Cannibalism happens on a spectrum. Some zombies actually try not to eat you. And some survivors do worse things than a zombie would ever dream of.
The question is: what am I?

If you lost your mind, do you think you'd kill more, steal, injure, backstab, rape or any other atrocity you can think of? If you can think of it, then maybe you would. The characters and situations in this book are very real, if gore or horrific mental images scare you, then I wouldn't recommend reading far. DESCRIPTION: The Infection claimed the lives of over 3 billion people before the TV's went off. But it would claim many more. The problem didn't arise when those people got up and started walking again, or even when they started eating and infecting others, it began when people got desperate. In this new world, the true evil that humans are capable of gradually becomes more apparent, and a part of everyday life. Normality doesn't exist, people don't help other people. Friends aren't a thing anymore. All anyone truly has is themselves, and the burdens they carry.Complete

The School Escape
It was a normal day, until we heard those static noises. The next thing you know everyone is running out the classrooms. I can hear students screaming and running. When I step out I see bodies all over the floor. My old friends covered with blood, like a red blanket covering them. Follow as a group of students try to escape this hell. Their past catches up to them. They have to face reality and stop trying to hide the past. What they didn't expect was for the past to catch up so quickly. Lying and acting fake, is just the beginning of the past, but also torture, and rape. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the beginning of the story it's really bad writing. Becoming Them: A Zombie Novel
What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? Megan couldn't believe her eyes. Her brain was muddled with confusion she couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times those strangers reassured her and explained what happened. But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in.
