We cannot control if we have depression or not but we can control how we cope with it. Most people go to negative coping skills before even realizing how bad they are. This is the story of my struggle with self harm. I have changed the names of all the characters, including my own. Read this story to find out how I managed to start recovery with cutting, burning, starving, etc. Also, this story may be triggering so if you are easily triggered please do not read. Self harm is never the answer and if you are struggling with it please tell someone and try to get better. I apologize if my spelling and grammar is bad, I'm sure I'll look at this story in a few years and cringe at all of the mistakes I didn't realize when writing, but the story is good and it's totally worth dealing with all the grammar mistakes I swear.
