I could feel someone's eyes starring a hole through my head from behind me , I knew who exactly it was. Samuel James Morgan, let's just say he's always like this when I'm around other guys and I don't know why, it's not like we're are mates or anything . You are probably thinking mates ? That's right we're werewolves.
My name is Martha Weston, I'm first born of the high and mighty Alpha Weston, my beloved farther. We are from the Blood moon pack, 1st highest ranking pack in the world, I will have the responsibility to look after this pack when I come of age and my father steps down from his Alpha role and gives it to me as I'm an only child and his first born.
It's my 16th birthday today and the day I can finally shift into my wolf, I've been looking forward to this day since I was a little girl. My farther has planned a huge celebration in my honour of my 16th birthday and the day I finally can shift and meet my wolf. However, this guy Samuel in my school had been acting strange around me all day and I don't know why, but who cares, LETS PARTY !!!!.

Excerpt only: I quickly run in their direction as my claws elongate into fierce points. I watch as a man in all black strikes down and kills one of the innocent packless men before turning to another. Mort, is the Alpha for the Red Crimson pack and I am his Beta, Taragon. He has recently found a mate and because of an accident that happened years ago after I found mine that caused her death, my punishment was that I would never have another mate. I accepted it as punishment for not protecting her at the time and caused her death. One day, the Alpha meets his mate and she happens to be a runt in one of the worst families of our kind. He isn't too happy with her and she's so fragile looking. Although, he feels that for her, she can still be useful around the house. While he's away, I take care of some things along with keeping an eye on her also. Then something happened, out-of-nowhere, I heard my inner wolf say, 'mate'. However, I strayed away from that idea because I don't know, I felt this was a better idea since the Alpha is always coming out on top and Beta's don't have mush stories. Two Faces, One Wolf....
Life was so simple. So much more carefree and just generally free to do as you please and not have to worry about every little thing. Key word being 'was'. The second you receive your wolf you know your in trouble. It's when the rolling hills and valleys turn into mountains and canyons taunting you to enter. But you can help it cause to get to the other side and pass the finish line you gotta climb those mountains and fall deep into the canyons. But of course teenagers even like obstacles especially when they are still tying to fun themselves. Some may be more outspoken then others and some may be the the tiniest bit too mature but they have to learn one way or another. But what happens when a pack of wolves flirting at first start being the bigger picture and that being this free wasn't going to last forever. Feelings come and go just like people but the day you turn of age that also changes. Mates is a hard word to swallow and acceptance becomes a challenge but not as challenging as sticking together as things are thrown their way, distractions are made and a few too many lies but too deep.
