Dan Howell is different to everyone else. He's been unfortunately blessed with the gift of growing up to the head demon of destruction and ruin. Everyone on earth has a destiny to be a creature of good but there has to be one. Dan is not a bad person, but fate can change that.

Anyone could change anytime, the changing is not a gradual thing. Dan doesn't know when he will change, no one will know when they are in danger.

Trying to lead a normal life like everyone else, Dan meets many people who take effect on his time as a human. Especially a young man who is due to turn into an angel any day. An akuma follows, watching over Dan, warning him of his actions and telling him how much time is left, only visible to Daniel.

"It made Dan think of myths he'd been told as a child, of a whole world just like he imagined, inhabited by people called "humans". But like he said, it was nonsense, and just a stupid myth"

Dan is just trying to make his time with his angel last before he forgets it all and will no longer feel the love he once did.
