Rose is 19, meaning she doesn't have long before it her turn. Everyone gets their blood drawn daily, but no one knows why. The only a adults are the Helpers (the doctors) as Rose likes to call them and Them but Rose doesn't ever know if they're human. When she gets assigned to a doctor she starts asking questions; questions that will hurt the people she cares about.
