When I was a toddler, my parents discovered me in my room playing with and imaginary friend I repeatedly called Jesus. As I grew older, however, that friend and I got separated because I saw the beauty of the fire and mud. I played in its circle, I swam in its pool.

Years later, Jesus revealed Himself to me. Not really in a way that I got to visit and experience heaven or hell. A few of His messengers preached His gift of salvation to me from high school until now, making me understand that the friend I called Jesus died for the likes of me: a sinner.

God loves us, whoever we are. Whether we are the best or the worst children, the most obedient or the most unruly, preacher or criminal, whatever walks we have in life, God demonstrated to us His love by sending His son Jesus to die for us and redeem our souls. The moment we realize this, the journey with our Lord begins.All Rights Reserved

The world was full of trouble. Full of confusion and a catastrophic dilemma. One couldn't imagine at what destructive measure it would disintegrate into. While so many things were done to make the world a better place. At some point, it would later be revealed that the biggest problem was not a lack of educational facilities or a lack of health facilities. Believe it or not, Africa, also wasn't the world's biggest problem. The problem with the world today is sin. Sin brought about problems that would perpetuate into many more generations to come! It's almost unbelievable that someone would leave greener pastures to settle in a beat-down environment like Earth. One would wonder what this being could ever want. If life existed beyond the surfaces of our universe, why stay? If there was the possibility of walking with a glory that outshined the brightness of the sun, why hesitate? God cannot love us anymore than He loves our neighbor. His love tank is so vast that it accommodates everyone. Had He only sent Jesus Christ to the rich or the poor in African households, His love would then be conditioned to those that qualified. What makes His love so unique and strange is that He loves the broken and the sinners. He loves those of us that are unlikeable and unattractive. He persuaded His only son to die gruesomely to have all of mankind at His bosom. In the movies, opening doors and buying a bouquet of flowers is symbolic of love. In families, love is expressed in many different kind of forms. Even animals have ways in which they show affection. While all of that might stand out. It cannot be compared to the love of God. God can feel love, and He is love!

My life has been an intense journey from a little girl who was beaten down and abused into believing that she was worthless, to a woman at 43 years of age who is still desperately searching for who she truly is. I found her though. I did. And she writes like me, from inside of me. She is me. This girl that I've been in love with since time first existed, is indeed me. The way that she walks. With her hands... and how she talks? The hearts that she's captured, the souls that she has inspired. I'm now trying to be her. I've never felt that I was good enough to actually be myself!!! I always knew how pure and clear and free I was inside. But people told me otherwise, in a very cruel way. No one ever spared my feelings or thought to speak to me with kindness or love. My parents were very serious and strict people. They believed that there was only 1 way to act and inside I knew that I did NOT fit in the parameters of the behavior expected of me. And every single time I made my Step Daddy sigh or frown it felt like I knife in my heart. I was a let down. Always too loud. Always moving too much. Always too fat and always too ugly. Always too much. Unless I sat quietly. But I've always been a firecracker and all of that containment really made me want to blow off! All of what was inside of me, swirling and dividing in me. Burying the side of me that I loved the most! I was a bastard and a blasphemy. Harsh words for a girl of 3. They said them when they baptized me.

I have made this a God-book because after all - God is the source of confidence.

Why does one travel from a well known neighborhood to another where the outcome of the visit is not yet understood? I could name the streets and places in my neighborhood. There was a well defined map in my head that used comfortable explanations for what to expect. Then, everything changed. I drove up the hill, parked the car in a familiar place. When I walked into the house all the furniture was the same. Yet, when I sat beside him everything I knew went away. My mind was empty, only able to engage in superficial talk. I was afraid of his cancer. I didn't know what to say or how to help. I was lost in the whole sorry business. I gave him what comfort my presence was good for and, he gracefully accepted it like a brother would. Behind the warmest smile I could draw up was a deserted beach, waves of questions washing against my feet. A great ocean met the horizon and disappeared somewhere beyond where eyes could take a mind. Where would the questions take me? Where do you start such a quest?

"I feel like I'm going in circles. Like I'm stuck in a cycle and I can't seem to claw my way out of. It's feels like when I found my religion again I started grieving. It seems like just yesterday I was saved. Not knowing what to do next or where I should go. Little by little I had to find my way and put together the lessons I was taught from different sources to seemingly lead a holy life. My supreme happiness came from when I found Jesus.
