Jessica is forced to move from Oklahoma to New York after oil is found on her farm and her parents are offered a great deal of money. She has to start over at a new school, and meets a couple of new friends. She also meets an unlikely friend. A mysterious and unruly boy named Robert. Eventually they fall in love, but Robert has to move to California where his father is producing movies.
Years later, plus a child and and minus her ex husband, Jessica moves to California in search of change. She finds change alright when she runs into Robert for the first time in 6 years. Both lives complicate as they run into troubles with their families and each other.
